State Highway Department engineers will draft plans for both a bridge and fill at Winnegance and bids from contractors will be sought around March 1. At an adjourned highway commission meeting in Augusta Bath Sagadahoc County and Phippsburg representatives debated whether to construct the bridge or fill depending on contractor costs.
Jack Shaw organizes a Pep py minstrel show at Mason ic Temple featuring a large cast of singers dancers and comedians. The Grace church Men’s club on Oak street enjoyed an evening with Csr. Henry W. Owen at the parish house. Seven reels of motion pictures from the islands and Portland show batteries in action including Battery H Bath anti aircraft drill. Col Owen explained curve plotting for firing big guns and locating ships by sound devices. Carvell Watson contributed a brief closing bit.
Manager Paul B. Davis cancelled the Liberty Five versus House of David clash set for the Arcade next Tuesday. New contracts promise a Bath Arcade game between House of David and Philadelphia Colored Giants likely on Washington’s Birthday, marking their Maine debut on a second invasion. Tickets will be sold soon. Maine deer killed 14,635 in 1931, up 1,537 from 1930, with bears at 474 and bucks about 61 percent.
Morse High School stunned Cheverus of Portland 34 to 23 at Morse gym. Newell Wilson led Morse with strong second half shooting while Harry Ring and Harold MeInman contributed on both ends. Capt. Legard sparked a decisive final period as Morse triumphed despite a tight first half.

Morse Junior varsity defeated Lincoln Academy junior varsity 29 to 12 in a prelim game at the high school gym last week. Morse jumped to a 12-6 first period lead and expanded it to 29-12 as Lincoln managed only six points in the middle periods. Billy Green and Al Douglas led Morse with solid defense and scoring support from Erskiner who had eight points. Earlier this season Morse had edged Lincoln at Newcastle by one point.
About 120 young people attended the annual mid winter social and reception for the Sunday school senior classes at Central church parish house. An eight oclock orchestra played five pieces and dancing lasted to midnight with red crepe lights and evening gowns on display.
Dromore Farm Bureau held an all day session at Winnegance Community clubhouse with a Tooled Leather topic taught by Mrs Betty Rogers. A special dinner, flagtable displays, Washington quotations, and musical interludes followed the program led by Miss Bessie Dickinson. Thirty members attended with four visitors. four new members joined.
Dr. Francis W. O'Brien of Greenwood Baptist Church Brooklyn spoke on a national radio program at 8 30 during morning devotionals. Listeners noted his familiar voice and recalled the quarter century since he founded People’s Baptist Church in this city.
