City Treasurer Donald D. Young reported the state cannot send clerks to Bath this year to issue auto licenses. Augusta clerks expected in February will not arrive due to plate delays, forcing Bath residents to apply by mail or other channels to Augusta. Bath to Receive 50000 In Lieu Of Tax Payments
The United States Treasury will pay Bath Maine 50929.38 in lieu of taxes for three war housing developments Hyde Park Terrace Lambert Park Homes and dormitories used by wartime workers. Payments cover April 1 1943 to April 1 1944 with deductions for utilities and services as agreed locally.
