Christmas Festival and Cantata at Elm Street Vestry
A Christmas festival and amusing cantata were presented while A A Magoun and Victor son arrived home for Christmas. Capt William Anderson of Port Richmond made a brief business trip, and Charles M arrived home from New Haven for the holidays. Stores were crowded with holiday goods and merchants report strong trade. Snow fell in the North end on Sunday and the cemetery grounds were white. The Elm Street vestry fair last Friday evening sold all items and cleared about 60 dollars. Orphan’s Home children rehearsed for a New Year entertainment, with Mrs Stetson inviting trustees to attend.
