Preliminary Hearing On Location Of Bath Brunswick Road

A preliminary hearing on the proposed Bath Brunswick highway location will be held in Bath on December 28. Officials from Bath, the Chamber of Commerce, Planning Board, and the State Highway Commission will attend to brief local groups before a January 5 public hearing in Brunswick Town Hall. The plan envisions a four lane divided highway with an initial two lane segment from Cook's corner to Maine street in Brunswick, and no new bridge over the Kennebec. Route 1 will continue as a business route between the two communities.
