Bath officers say Damon Gagnon of Quincy Massachusetts refused to accompany Sheriff Albert Henderson and State Officer John Crosby to Bath. Gagnon allegedly drove a liquor laden truck seized July 13 at Blind Crossing and fled with others. Extradition bond set at 300 dollars, raising concerns about a large New England rum running ring.

Bath garage man and war veteran dies from burns
Charles T. Edgecomb 41 a Bath garage proprietor and World War I veteran died at City hospital after severe burns from a gasoline and flame accident in front of his Ferry Street shop. Clara W. McKay suffered minor burns while attempting to extinguish the blaze. Edgecomb served in the 1st Air Service Mechanics Regiment in France and belonged to the Miami American Legion post. He is survived by his wife, his mother Flora Edgecomb, two sisters and a Boston sister-in-law.

Bath man charged with larceny of storage battery
Leroy Clark of Bath was arraigned before Judge John J. Keegan on larceny of a city storage battery from the old Sewall homestead barn near Oak Grove cemetery. He pleaded guilty, received 30 days in Auburn jail suspended, with one year probation. Battery valued at about $12 was from a Park & Cemetery department Ford.
