Rehearsal, accidents, and fishing report from city news
A near catastrophe at the galvanizing shop on Broad Street left I B Reed and two boys uninjured after a zinc pot explosion. A rehisarsal for the Old Folks Concert at Corliss Street chapel is planned for next month with a large chorus and orchestra. Farmers brought in cargoes, including a 3000 pound load by Job Cushman of Arrowsic and a 2610 pound Shaw farm haul from the North End. The fishing season sees light crews despite decent fish, with daily catches around 12 to 15 pounds as men shift to yard and iron works work.
