Sudden Pond Bath Claims Local Skater Youth
Nelson Lowery, 16, son of Mr and Mrs John J Lowery of 302 Front Street, fell through thin ice at the city park pond Sunday around 3 30 pm while skating with friends. He broke through a weak center spot fed by hydrant water, sinking to his waist before reaching bottom. He walked home, warmed up, changed clothes, and experienced no apparent after effects.

City Clerk George Bumpus said Bath filed a writ against Auburn in Sagadahoc County Superior Court seeking 500 dollars allegedly for supplies furnished to Joseph A Roux and family.
