Harold D. Lancaster of Richmond Corner was held on 1000 bond for Sagadahoc Superior Court's January term in the negligent shooting of his 15 year old son Kenneth during a Thanksgiving Day hunt. Lancaster pleaded innocent to the charge when arraigned before Trial Justice Joseph Randlett in Richmond.

The U.S.S. Gleaves 1630 ton destroyer will launch privately at 11.15 a.m. Saturday at Iron Works. Access restricted by naval regulations with employee and guest checks, a band will play, and two descendants of Admiral Gleaves will christen the ship with champagne. The event precedes hull 183 keel laying for the Ludlow as Bath Tron Works continues its destroyer program.
