Two Big Sharks Battle West Point Fishermen
Ernest M. Wallace and sons Richard and Albert battled two massive sharks while gaffing ground fish on the Susan Anne. The 215 and 225 pound sharks thrashed for almost an hour as water boiled and damage occurred to the vessel. The crew landed 2700 pounds of fish from ten tubs of trawl, with shark prices ranging 12 to 20 cents.
