Mr and Mrs Charles H Bates long time Beachmont residents celebrated their golden wedding at home 129 Bradstreet Avenue. He served as tax assessor for 14 years when Revere was a town and later as building inspector for six years. Family and friends attended a dinner at General Edwards Inn with many relatives among the guests. They are active in Trinity Congregational Church and Boy Scout work, reflecting a life of civic involvement.

Government survey shows Bath rents rise over 18 months
WPA and local offices report Bath average rent increased more than 10 percent from March 1940 to September 1941, adding over 26 hundred dollars to monthly rent bills. About 36 percent of rentals rose between September 1940 and September 1941, with average increases around four to five dollars, and only 0.7 percent of units fell. Changes in structure or conveniences raised rents in many cases, and most tenants remained in place through the period.

At St Marys P T A meeting last week 75 new members were added to the PTA through a recent drive. The group voted to move evening meetings to the first Wednesday monthly starting December 3 at Mrs Arthur Burgess home. Afternoon meetings resume December 17. William B Mussenden resigns as treasurer of the Bath Trust Company effective December 1 1941 after long service dating to 1882 with the First National Bank and as part of the Mussenden banking family history in Bath. Kenney Charged With Larceny Of Household Goods
Local police arrested John Kenney on Friday night and he was later released on $600 bail. He is to be arraigned in Municipal Court on Wednesday December 10 to answer a charge of larceny of more than $500 in household goods from Mrs. Alice Howard of Washington Street. The warrant alleges theft on June 30 of items including sheets towels lamps chairs cots radios and various other household goods totaling $557.77.

Three cars collided on Route 1 west of Witch Spring Hill shortly before noon Saturday when a motorist failed to pass and struck the car ahead and an oncoming Dodge truck. Hubert C.
