High School PTA Opens Season September Twenty Second
The High School P T A will open its season on September 22 at Morse High School. Reports will be submitted on the YMCA camp at Lake Cobbesseeconiee. Castine music camp and church vacation schools will be attended by pupils with one report from each group. The program committee under Mrs. Arthur C. Norton plans talks by specialists and a varied schedule through spring with meetings featuring child welfare, fathers night, Founders day, social hygiene, debates and open dates.

By September first the Harold P. Small Co. will move all operations radios automobiles outboard motors and motor boats into one central building the big concrete garage at the foot of Broad street on Commercial. The Dunton block sale to Lloyd L. Steeves prompted the consolidation and Mayor Small plans to use the former showroom for radios and frigidaires with the garage remaining as the sales and service center for Oakland and Pontiac autos.

Jacob B. Henry, 88, doorkeeper in the Massachusetts House, lies in Bath City hospital with a broken hip after an automobile accident. Capt. John Blake, 89, of Richmond, visiting Bath relatives, had met Henry a week earlier on the wharf where the steamer Virginia lands, reuniting after enlisting on the same day in Maine 69 years ago. The men served together, were wounded, and witnessed Lee's surrender. Capt. Walter Farmer piloted the Virginia, bringing them together.
