Maine Farmers Report Strong Yields and High Prices
Maine farmers report big crops across the board with steady demand for produce. Eggs sell 34 to 36 cents a dozen, country butter 28 cents a pound, potatoes 80 cents per bushel, and apples 75 to 90 cents a bushel. Cabbage, beets, turnips, onions, cucumbers, green beans, blueberries, and blackberries are available at varied modest prices as harvests continue.
