A Friday village fire at Warren S. Rines’s garage on High Street nearly touched 44 000 volt power lines. Maxwell Sawyer and Edward J. McMann flagged the risk, ordered hose changes, and kept the stream from the wires. Rines was slightly burned. a Ford coupe burned and nearly exploded. Chief Parks and a quick response prevented further disaster.

Bath lad drowns off Thorne Head
Carroll Mason a 10 year old member of Dike school's fourth grade drowned at Thorne Head while bathing with three companions. He slipped into a deep cave hole and sank, reappearing three times as friends frantically called for help. His body was recovered about an hour later by Elford A. Stover and rescuers. He leaves three brothers and his mother Mrs Elizabeth J Mason.

The Davenport household auction resumed Thursday morning drawing a fine response. Sold items included a gold headed cane with San Francisco ship brokers gift inscription bought by Mrs. Rupert H. Two Carnival Men Once Lived in Bath
Clinton Williams ticket seller on the chairplane and F E Powers who runs the high striking machine once lived in Bath. They left the Eastern Amusement Co in 1914 to open Cosy Corner Lunch room on Water street for a year, then returned to the midway. They now tour Maine in summer with the Eastern company and travel south for Florida fairs in winter.

Adelbert W. Gordon announces the Maine Teachers Association 25th annual convention set for Portland October 26 27 and 28 drawing as many as 6000 attendees. One Man Dead After Bath Brunswick Road Crash
A Nash touring car veered off near the Chapel of Our Saviour on the Brunswick road just after midnight. Harry C. Robinson 40 died at City hospital from injuries. Mrs Robinson and two other women were seriously injured. The crash left the vehicle wrecked and the scene under investigation by Sheriff Henderson and state patrol.
