The 1906 ag party hosted by Mrs. Jones featured a social lawn gathering with the North En General Secretary W. NE Des CORE and others attending. A man riding a bicycle along Water Street sustained a brain concussion and died within hours, while improvements were announced for North Street. Mrs. W. Morris and family arrived for a visit, and several residents vacationed on Prince Edward Island with notable trout catches. A Portland trip sent Mrs. J. D. Robinson and Miss Ann Robinson to the pen Historical and oil association session.

Sabino Improvement Association Elects Officers at Annual Meeting

The Sabino Improvement Association held its annual meeting and elected officers led by President Everett G. Lemont and Vice President C. Lloyd Hooker. Charles H. Bates was elected a three year trustee, and plans were set for an annual supper and possible by law amendments.

Morrill Perry Couple Wed in Portland Ceremony

Mrs Louise Morrill and George Perry Jr both of Bath were married Sunday in Portland by Justice Harold Hart. A reception followed at the bride’s mother Hazel Guimonde’s home. The bride wore a pink dress and corsage. The groom is the son of George Perry of Bath and they will live in Bath.

In a pitching duel Bath Junior Legion fell 2-1 to Brewer at Tagus in eight and a half innings. Philathea Class Enjoys Summer Outing at Westport

Members of the Philathea class of Corliss Street church visited Mrs. Elizabeth Glidden for a Tuesday evening at her Westport summer home. They brought picnic lunches, had supper, then took a boat ride and returned for singing and games. Levin and Lebel Reach McInnes Cup Final Pairings

The McInnes Cup finals will feature Bob Levin versus Ray Lebel after strong seasons. Lebel leads as the favorite though Vin may upset him. In Bath Country Club’s Open Amateur Tourney, Lebel shot low gross 73 from scratch, Ed and Royce Abbott took second with 74, and a three way tie for third included Will Girard, Will Chaney, and Bob Gardiner Jr. First net went to Royce Abbott with 67, while Tony Toothaker and Ross Spear shared second nets. The Maine Ladies Open will be held at the local Bath Country Club August 13 14 15 and 16. Women golfers from across Maine will compete in this equivalent of the Maine Open for men with Bath merchants donating prizes.

Odd Fellows Home hosts rainy state gathering of Rebekahs and lodge members

The annual Rebekah and Odd Fellows picnic occurred Friday at Odd Fellows Home in Auburn with large attendance despite rain. The event moved indoors to the recreation room and featured a program including Edward Taylor and his wife Mrs Taylor, a concert pianist, plus various lodge numbers. Brunswick native Zeke Hunt to swim Peaks Island to Portland

Isaiah W. Hunt of Brunswick known as Zeke will swim from Peaks Island to Portland on August 17 with his son Bill rowing. A noted ex Morse High student and Bowdoin alumnus, Hunt lives at the family summer home, works as a chemist, and is preparing with daily dips at Thomas Point. He is remembered for a 2 mile Deering wharf to Bluff Head crossing and receives strong praise from Capt. Irwin.
