He left Bath November 19 sailed on the Kronolind of the Panama Pacific line stopping at Havana and Panama both noted as particularly interesting. The Palo Alto winter climate was warm with one frost and little snow seen in the Santa Cruz mountains. Myron Sprague a Bowdoin graduate and Bath native is married and well regarded at the university. He admired the apricot trees blossoming in the Santa Clara valley and the trip both ways was smooth except for a wake at Hatteras.
