Theta and XI Beta Plan Joint Christmas Party

Young Churchmen Of Grace Church Meet

The Episcopal Young Churchmen of Grace Church held a Sunday evening meeting on the topic Dont Miss Your Calling. They planned a skating party for December 13 at Bowdoin College rinks with a 6 p m Seymour House gathering and box lunches. Transportation to Brunswick will be arranged by Joan Ayer. A Christmas party was set for December 27 with Ann Ball and Joan Ayer on the refreshment committee. Vice President Stephen Thayer led the session.

Morse Students to Receive Merit Certificates

Morse High School students are among Maine seniors awarded high honors and honors certificates by the Academic Recognition committee of the Maine Teachers' Association. A total of 920 high honors and 600 honors certificates go to 165 participating high schools for National Merit Scholarship test results.

Postmaster Edward W. Larrabee announced Bath postal window hours for the Christmas mailing season. Hours run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec 12, 2 to 5 p.m. on Dec 13, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec 14–23, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec 20, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec 24.

Postage for unsealed Christmas cards with only a signature is 3 cents to any US point. Sealed greeting cards within the United States cost 4 cents. Unsealed cards to Canada or Mexico are 4 cents, and 4 cents is required for unsealed cards to any foreign country. Sealed cards to foreign countries have varying rates and lenders should check with the post office for specifics.

Over 100 Bath area district employees of the New England Tel & Tel Co attended a Christmas party Saturday evening at the American Legion hall. Gerald B. Rioux led the planning with Harold T. Stanton Jr and several aides. A buffet supper followed by dancing powered by James Footer and his orchestra. Boy Scout Troop 55 held its weekly meeting at Winter Street Congregational church with 16 of 22 scouts present. F W Robie and Ralph W Brewer led advancement instruction as two scouts passed second class tests and eight passed Tenderfoot. A special meeting is set for December 9 at 6 30 PM to finalize area meeting plans and transport. Robie to complete troop charter.
