Harding Couple Celebrate Their Golden Wedding
Mr and Mrs Joseph E Footer of Hardings marked their 50th wedding anniversary at home on Saturday April 9 with all living children except Samuel Footer of West Palm Beach Florida due to his two children with measles. An afternoon of visiting, a large supper, and gifts followed a 1888 Quebec marriage and years in Bath including work at Hyde Windlass Co and Bath Iron Works. They had twelve children, eleven living, with many grandchildren present and a decorated house for the occasion.

Bath to Launch Destroyer Sampson Saturday
The 1850 ton destroyer Sampson, 372 feet long and built at Bath Iron Works, will be launched around 2 p.m. Saturday with Mrs. Louisa Smith Thayer as sponsor. The event includes a public gates opening 15 minutes before launch and a luncheon for dignitaries after the ceremony.

Skeet Shooting Season Opens at Bath Range Saturday
Skeet shooting begins its fifth season at Sagadahoc Rod Gun Skeet Association field North Bath road at 1 30 p m Saturday. Crack shots from Richmond and Brunswick clubs visit Bath to boost opening, with Fred K Sturtevant in charge for the season. The club aims to form a five man team for the state championship next fall and may host the state shoot this year. The Bath field traces to 1934 led by E Bernard McCausland and Edward E Sonia with strong local support. McCausland won the 25 gauge Maine title in 1935.

Miss Margaret Harris 18 a Bath waitress slept walked to a heavy plank walk below the Carlton block 671 677 Washington Street and plunged through a 28 inch window pane at 3 30 a m suffering a fractured right wrist a broken bone in the right hand cuts and bruises surgeons believe muscle relaxation in somnambulism spared her life. She was treated at Memorial hospital and later recovered consciousness.
