New England Building Approved for World’s Fair Exhibit
A $150 000 model for the joint New England States exhibit at the New York World’s Fair has been approved and sent to the Commission on Design. Two fairground lots are reserved. The design features a 150 foot sailing vessel at the dock, a waterfront warehouse, and Bulfinch inspired New England architecture. Massachusetts leads with a $75 000 appropriation while other states assign funds from $25 000 to $50 000 each.

Maine Wardens Welcome New Lively Lady Patrol Boat
The state’s Department of Sea and Shore Fisheries unveiled a 30 foot patrol craft named The Lively Lady built for warden use along the Maine coast. Designed by Warden Thomas McKinney and powered by a 97 h.p. motor, the boat will cruise at 12 to 15 knots and aid in combatting poaching while promoting salt water sport fishing. A May christening is planned at Kennebunk Beach with Mr. Roberts in attendance.

Easter Music Shines as Gaudreau Soloist at St Marys
Edward Gaudreau of Portland violinist of many years played a solo at the three masses at St Marys Catholic church on Easter. The music was beautifully rendered and the altars with their exquisite floral decorations added to the splendid service. Following the service Henry Biggins president of the choir on behalf of the members presented the organist Mrs George Comeau with bouquets for arranging the Easter music. Prof George Owen Visits Bath On Boston Trip
MIT professor and famed yacht designer George Owen called on friends in Bath while returning to Boston from Eastern Maine. He designed the Defiance yacht built by Bath Iron Works in 1914 for a Boston New York Philadelphia syndicate to defend the America Cup. His son, George Owen, starred in Harvard football baseball and hockey. Miss Rita Cummings of Oak Street spent the weekend in Boston.
