Mrs Jane Davis widow of John Davis of Port Hawkesbury died in Lynn Massachusetts after pneumonia following a severe cold. She lived with daughter Mrs Joseph Boldin at 47 Rogers Avenue and was a member of Port Hawkesbury First Baptist Church. Survived by three daughters and three sons, burial at Woodlawn Cemetery Lynn after funeral at 2 PM Wednesday.
Samuel Gibbs of Bath, born in Bathurst New Brunswick in 1866, died at Bath Memorial Hospital after a fall. He served in the Spanish American War and spent years as a railroad yardman for Maine Central, later a longshoreman with J C Mulligan Co and briefly with Bath Iron Works. Survived by a sister Mrs Wilbur C Oliver of Bath and a niece Maude Lambright plus nephews Eugene Gibbs and Arthur G Oliver.
Thomas R. Brewster, 69, longtime carpenter at the former Percy & Small shipyard, died Monday in Augusta. A native of Canning Nova Scotia, he was the son of Cornelius and Marion Brewster. Survived by wife, two sons Cornelius of Bath and Glendon of Hartford, Conn., and daughter Mrs Harold Holmes of Bath. Funeral Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Arthur F. Mayo funeral residence, 819 High Street, with Rev. Charles M. Tubbs officiating.
Georgetown and Bay Point residents visit Bath for shopping and companionship. Miss Eleanor Cunningham and Miss Dorothy Hagan spend weekends with families. Edward Clarey and Rev. Walter Schoepfer call on friends. Local illness and hospital stays include Mrs. Walter Powers confinement and Carroll Powers’ Togus treatment recovery.
Mrs. Alfred J. Rowe learned Monday of the pneumonia death of her uncle Jackson F. Harford 84 in St. Elizabeth hospital Washington DC He was a Georgetown native son of Jackson and Elizabeth Harford left town 50 years ago He was unmarried and survived by cousins He attended Kents Hill school and worked for the government in its park department.
Miss Belle J Foote a Bath prominent family member died suddenly Tuesday at 831 Washington street after months of illness from heart trouble. Survived by brother Harry Foote Bath sisters Martha A Foote and Margaret R Foote who lived with her niece Mrs Marion Chasey Bloomfield N J. Daughter of Benjamin F and Hannah FE Foote Bath she attended Bath High School class of 81. Funeral Thursday at two at the home with Dr David L Wilson of Central church presiding.
Mrs Clarice C Silsby widow of Frederick B Silsby died recently and her funeral was held Wednesday at 2 PM at her home 1202 Washington Street. Roland J Sawyer of Brunswick led the Christian Science service with bearers James A Bimson Norman W Howard Archie C Rolfe and Edward C Rolfe. burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
The funeral for Samuel Gibbs was held Wednesday at 3 PM at his home 32 Robinson lanes with Rev. Charles M. Tubbs of Grace church presiding. Bearers were James E. Jones Norman Smith Allie Williams and Alan Wilson, veterans of the Spanish American War. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Frederick A. Curtis of Ashdale was buried at Oak Grove after a Tuesday funeral at the Fred S. Curtis funeral home 105 Center street Bath Rev. Joseph O. Purdue officiated with bearers William H Gilman William W. Hosmer Albert Thompson and Raymond Wynan.
The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at two at the North Woolwich Methodist Church with Rev. Walter W. Swank officiating. Bearers were Edgar Bailey, W. E. Elliott, Albert, and G. D. Trott. Burial followed at Partridge Cemetery.
Richard Frank Curtis 81 died Thursday afternoon at 2 at his home 33 Pleasant Street after four weeks illness from dilation of the heart. A Bath native, he lived here 30 years and worked in grocery. he later moved to Salem and Boston before returning in 1929. Survived by wife Jennie Lermond, two sons Nathaniel and Charles, two grandchildren Lillian and Donald, two sisters Cora Small and Ephraim French, and brother Ernest Curtis. He was active in the Lincoln lodge Odd Fellows and Corliss Street Baptist Church.
Herbert S. Harris, 66, assistant shipper in Hyde Windlass Co propeller department, died Thursday morning at 857 Middle Street after a four day illness. Born in Bath he learned jewelry and later worked with The Texas Steamship Co and Sagadahoc Fruit Co. He joined Hyde Windlass in 1923 and was active in Solar Lodge F and A M and Bath Lodge. Survived by wife, sister Mrs. Joseph M. Trott, two nieces and a nephew.
The funeral for Olive M. Thompson aged 102 was held Friday afternoon at the Old Ladies' Home on High Street. Rev. Charles R. Sims and Rev. David L. Wilson officiated. Mrs. Sims and Rev. M. Helen Sims sang. Bearers included Arthur J. Dunton Dr A I Stuart Arthur L. Pratt and Edwy A. Sothearn. Burial followed in Runwell cemetery in Wiscasset.
A large Bath lodge of Elks delegation joined the service for Herbert S Harris at his Middle Street home. Rev. Joseph O Purdue led the ceremony with pallbearers including Edmund P Briggs City Marshal Walter L Whitney Fritz Klippel Walter Palmer Maurice Potter and Joseph Madden. Burial followed at Oak Grove.

Rev Frederick Po Moffatt officiated. bearers Sidney B Lermond Chester A Plant Wallace Plant John Russell. burial at Oak. Annual Old Orchard Beach town hall bridge and whist party raised funds for PT A likely. 10 bridge tables and 10 whist tables enjoyed by teachers for the local A wulk fund.
The funeral for Miss Pamella G Wright was held Wednesday at 2 PM at Nequasset Congregational Church Woolwich with Rev Willard Rand officiating. Bearers included Frank R Bailey Leon Dodge Ossian Dodge and John Gilmore. Burial followed at Nequasset Cemetery. Archibald M Main of Bath Iron Works and Henry O Trowbridge of the shipyard remain confined to home due to illness.
At the Five Islands annual church meeting last Wednesday evening the clerk Miss Carnie Stevens and other officers were elected including treasurer Mrs Beulah Miller and assistant treasurer Mrs Luva Gray. A Boy Scouts program led by Rev Walter Schoepfer aims to raise funds for outfits as the group uses the Orange Hall for activities. The community notes also list local visits and illnesses.
A kettle of fat overturned on a gasoline stove sparked a blaze that destroyed Clark's Camps lunch room on the Brunswick road Monday near noon. Fire Chief Frank Lemar estimated damage at 1800 to 2000 dollars. Miss Elizabeth Thompson, daughter of proprietor Clarence Thompson, fought through flames to escape after brushing the kettle.

Mrs Florence Kelley Mitchell 84 widow of G Fred Mitchell died in Oxford. She was daughter of Capt Jean R Kelley and Abigail P Baker of Bath. Her father led ships for 31 years and helped form Kelley Spear Co. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Bath at Rev Franc W O'Brien’s church. burial followed in Bath.
Dexter W. Baker of Woolwich dies at Hix Home Sunday after a year long illness from heart trouble. Born in Woolwich he was the son of John and Mary Baker a farmer active in Woolrich Methodist Church where he served as trustee and previously superintendent of the Sunday school. Survived by son Clarence and daughter in law Walter Baker of Woolwich one brother Joseph Baker of Randolph and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs Mary M Sawyer mother of Bath woman dies in Portland Sunday at her daughter's home aged 82. A Canadian native and long resident of Rockland Lewiston Bath and Portland she had been blind for 25 years. Survived by three daughters one son and several stepchildren. Funeral held at Immaculate Conception Church.
Me Rosetta H Lewis former Georgetown woman died after two years at her home in Menhegan. She was daughter of John and Loklet and had a long life of community ties. Funeral was held with service at the family residence.
Mrs Pamela G Wright age 88 died at dawn at her brother’s residence in Woolwich Township. The obituary notes a daughter and surviving relatives including Sophia G Bihitef and Mary A Stae of Wisconsin. Funeral arrangements were not yet announced.
