Baby Mine Elephant Charms Dreamland Visitors
The 1400 pound, year old baby elephant known as Baby Mine visited The Independent office Tuesday noon. She climbed stairs toured the composing room and linotype area, accepted an orange, devoured a candy bag, squealed with pleasure, and planned to visit the stenographer she favored. Her performances draw crowds as she roams town with her mother, now performing at the New York Hippodrome.
