Maine Spring Prospects and Local Happenings
Sagadahoc's jury bill will likely be smaller this April as Maine anticipates a warm season. Bath ships another barge this week and shipping lists grow. Baseball season nears, children play in streets, and bicycles reappear. Sheriff Purington retires, good roads meeting boosts road work plans, and coal strike talks worry the nation. Local politics drum up activity ahead of state conventions and town turnout. Town committees must hustle for primaries while Bath weighs Roosevelt policy and party unity. The Kennebec river region seeks summer home buyers through better promotion.
