Memorial Services for August Willich Post G A R
The August Willich Post 175 will hold memorial services at St. Clair hall Sunday at 7 30. Rev W H Thompson to preach with a mass choir and a collection for hall expenses. Admission free and all invited. Decoration Day exercises May 30 include parades and programs by G A R M W A Eagles and other groups with a route through local streets ending at St John cemetery.

Fell From Scaffold Injures Otis Stowe At Breckenstein Home
Otis Stowe was plastering a staircase at George Breckenstein's house last Friday when the scaffold collapsed. He fell the stairs, suffering bruises with the left knee and right ankle most affected. Weighing over 200 pounds, he will be laid up for several weeks.

Patterson Pleads Guilty After Attempted Hall Entry For Wife
Charley Patterson armed with a revolver and whiskey sought to enter St. Clair's hall to confront his wife. He failed entry for lack of fifty cents, pleaded guilty to carrying concealed weapons, and was fined 25 dollars plus costs totaling 30.05, with his brother promising to pay.

Well Known Here Miss Jennie Mooure Dies in Indianapolis
Miss Jennie Mooure, beloved in Batesville, died at her home in Indianapolis on Friday morning May 17 1907 from consumption. Dolph Moore learned of her illness and rushed to her bedside arriving just five minutes after she passed away.

Wind damage hits Batesville area as storm roars through
A post midnight storm in Batesville and nearby centers caused extensive damage. Nick Blank’s store roof torn, a large tree toppled by Albert Bultman’s Pearl Street home, and several chimneys and awnings damaged. At Cross Roads a church chimney fell, a Meyer barn roof blown off, and Napoleon Catholic church gable end damaged. No injuries reported.
