Guernsey and Jersey dairy cattle from high grade herds to be sold October 31 at the fair grounds by B C Rumney. A barbecue ox feast at the grounds for attendees. Stock to be inspected the day before the sale with creamery plans backing a ready cash market. The sale aims to become an annual event attracting top dairy cattle.
A Riverside gathering details local hospitality and farm activity in Basin Gardens. Mr. and Mrs. A A Reed host across the river at Ahreneville while the Irwins discuss beet crops and a Des Moines market link. Gren Hartranft visits from Shell as drilling and new creamery prospects energize the area. The BasIN Baptist church prepares an all day service with Rev Racer present.
In Basin on Saturday the Wyoming Baptist state convention meets with Rev. L. G. Clark and C. A. Cook D D of Spokane leading talks. Three services on Sunday include 11 am morning, a to be announced afternoon, and 7 30 pm evening. Also regular prayer meeting Wednesday at 7 30. St Andrew’s Episcopal guild hosts a Halloween dance at the library on Allhallowe’en. Perk Davie injured after auto stage accident. recuperation planned. A town meeting discussed proposing a through Bil lings to Casper train if business warrants daily service. The plan requires layovers in Thermopolis and Casper, which could deter new settlers. A secretary was instructed to request service from towns along the line. A new Gaiety club formed with weekly to biweekly winter meetings at the library. chaperones listed and members named.
Kansas City stock yards note flat activity last week with firm best beef grades yet a weak finish for stockers. Market shows 23,000 head today and moderate runs elsewhere. prime beef at 9.00 to 9.45, yearlings around 9.40, cows 6.50 to 6.76, calves 7.00 to 9.50, and panhandle cows 5.25 to 6.25 amid variable regional quotes.
Last week the hog market revived midweek, regaining part of losses as 5 000 head moved today. Top hogs at 8.45, trades around 8.15 to 8.40. heavy hogs near top, lights down except select shipping-demand lights. Sheep and lambs down 25 to 50 cents from mid last week. Receipts 17 000 today, prices steady on fat hogs, feeders about 25 lower. Utah western lambs today 6.50 to 6.75, prices 3.50 to 4.25. Birthday party at Mrs. James O’Neil’s for his 69th birthday with guests listed.

Washington reports that the United States expressed strong disapproval of Huerta assuming executive and legislative power in Mexico and said the October 26 elections could not be considered constitutional. Two notes, by Secretary Bryan and President Wilson, urged a change in Mexican leadership and indicated no further diplomatic negotiations.
A new creamery opened on Tuesday showcasing new machinery in operation. Workers described improved efficiency as equipment was tested and demonstrated to visitors. Local officials attended the ceremony and praised the facility's potential to boost regional dairy business.
The Shoshone creamery began operations last Tuesday with 470 pounds of butter produced in its first test run. Manager R E Greeson from Cody leads Basin plant. J D Main oversees butter making with B C Romney owning the facility. A 1200 pound Victor churn handles production as creamery orders surge from Basin towns and Montana.
Wyoming News Bulletin notes a large share of students fund living costs themselves through jobs across campus. Roles include newspaper work waitressing table service furnace work clocking writing and dances. Under Louis Abheilly the school orchestra and glee clubs begin a new year with weekly rehearsals and plans for ongoing physical examinations and tailored drills for those needing fitness work.
