Local and Personal Notices Spark Greybull Town Stuff
Freeman's fixes faces and barber shop shaves lead the town chatter. Greybull visitors include J F Leighty, C A Zaring, and N B Winters, with reports of cattle shipments to Omaha and state fair prep in Douglas. Mentions of election tours, births, auctions, and new merchandise populate a dense daily note from the Basin region.
Battle Front update from Sept 30 reports stalemate yet German retreat promise
From the Battle Front the report notes nineteen straight days of hard fighting along a 150 mile front from the Gommer to the Moselle with no clear end in sight. Allies press hard on western and eastern wings while the center remains stationary as Germans offer stiff resistance and sacrificial losses. Strong inference that a decisive move by Germany may come soon as they cannot stem the Allied advance.
