Basin county dom- inates state fair exhibits

A Basin County delegation reports sweeping success at the state fair with Big Horn County leading prizes in agricultural displays. Fremont and Washakie counties also excelled. The fair showcased McCarty and Gilford’s famed string of 85 horses, wild west acts, and a popular hold-up and horse racing show, with Sioux participants and organized exhibits. State Geologist L. W. Harvey Hurst reported his team ran away Wednesday and one horse was not recovered until yesterday by Mr. Hurst. No serious damage occurred to the rig, though inconvenience was high as he hired a team to return home Wednesday night to his residence on the Nor wood.

Library Board names new member Mrs Vandevender

The county commissioners appointed Mrs C L Vandevender to the library board filling the Basin vacancy caused by Rev S W Albone's removal. The board praises her qualifications. Mr and Mrs B C Wise left yesterday to visit their daughter in Montana and then relatives in Cascade Iowa before returning home.
