Death of W. S. Collins Mourned by Country
William S. Collins died Saturday night at We Basin hospital two o clock after injuries from an automobile accident on October 30. Surgeons Harts Harris and M. H. alti assisted by others performed an operation to save his leg and life, but complications and age led to his passing. Collins, a Wyoming native and prominent engineer, was born in Ohio March 30 and educated at Ames Iowa State College. He practiced civil engineering and taught winter sessions while studying law in Springfield.

Early settler and civic pioneer of Basin remembered
Forty years ago a Time forty Yeas Ago column recalls the life of a prominent Big Horn Basin figure. A U.S. commissioner from 1892 to 1898, he organized the Big Horn County bank, helped secure irrigation ditches, and founded Basin as its first mayor. He lived in Wyoming, Nebraska, and Fort Fetterman before shaping northern Montana’s communities.

Hunters Return After Week on Octnyon Creek
Tai Miler Earl Daugherty Harez Payless and John Forquer came back from Octnyon Creek after a week of hunting. They killed three deer and saved enough to reassure friends that someone near the Daugherty ranch was safe. Elmer Galloway and L Boloskin, previously in the area, are expected home today. Douglas reportedly got lost and spent the night away as search efforts began with the country ready to assist.
