Strikeless Success Reported by American Smelting Chief

Simon Guggenheim, president of American Smelting and Refining, says the company runs nineteen plants across twelve states with no labor strikes in its facilities from 1916 to 1921. He cites extensive industry strikes but notes Colorado plants had none, due to welfare provisions, accident insurance, pensions, plant lunch rooms, and cheap housing. He asserts the plan protects workers and improves relations, claiming progress and a right approach.
