Commissioners Buy Machinery For Big Horn County Roads

County commissioners Welch Trough and Spratt, with Great Western Sugar Co manager W P Hogarty, examined road machinery at Billings and chose two machines to start work this season. A traction engine with four speeds will move at up to six mph, a ditcher and grader and a leveler will prepare and crown roads. Two men will supervise all summer to keep roads in top condition. The Sugar Co is praised for locating in the area and the piece notes rising farm wealth and banking profits though prices rise and some industries lag.

Carr Addresses Wyoming Bankers Meeting in Thermopolis

David L. Carr delivered an address to Group 1 of the Wyoming Bankers Association gathered in Thermopolis for its annual meeting. Officers elected were Arthur K. Lee as president, C. J. Williams as vice president, and Loren O. Gray as secretary, with Basin noted for a previous group president.

Republic Oil Co Strikes Oil Near Town

The Republic Oil Co reports a successful strike north of town at 225 feet with sand gas and high grade oil. Oil filled about 65 feet, drilling to continue toward the lower sand with prospects of further wells and a possible shot if no more oil is found.
