Basin residents will begin a citywide effort from April 9 to restore homes and streets. Each day targets a specific task from fire prevention to paint day, weed removal, and vacant lot cleanup, with city funds or fines used if residents do not comply. The program aims to boost curb appeal, property values, and town pride in Wyoming.
Paria Daugherty rested at his home on Canyon ereek then stopped at The Republican office. He notes several inches of snow still on the ground causing feed shortages for ranchers who moved stock to the Basin last winter. Daugherty plans to meet his son McKinley, who attended a state university short course.
Floyd H. Whitmore a Basin jeweler and respected businessman dies at 38 after a dental infection spread. Born May 3 1878 in Nebraska he leaves Ida Ralph wife and three children Clifford 16 Mabel 14 and Carol 5. Funeral Friday at 2 30 from the Methodist church with survivors including parents brothers and sister and his church and civic memberships.
Henderson has leased the Harvey ranch in Basin Gardens and will move out soon. He will plant 20 acres of beeta there and 80 acres on the Skovgard ranch. He announces a beet dump near the brick yard will be built immediately to benefit local farmers.
New front window at Berry Lumber company changes the exterior appearance. Installation occurred Monday and Tuesday this week to accommodate interior rearrangement.

Liberty Oil & Gas drills near Basin across the river aiming for Kimball sand. A surge in placer oil land filings north of Basin totals about 26 000 acres in Alkali home district. Midwest Refining buys Elk basin leases, gaining control of field production. Elk Basin No 8 yields 100 barrels. Northern Drilling to start for Ohio Oil on Wools No 3. Greybull Refining’s Geo Jenkinson visits Thermopolis. de Normandie of Greybull and Hennesey of Powell seen in town. Ohio Oil sells over one million barrels from Grass creek to Imperial Oil Co.
Carl P. Eklund, known as the Big Swede, arrives Tuesday noon to start a religious campaign in Basin. From Grace church Denver he brings singer Francis D. Wootton to lead a choir. meetings run Tuesday evening April 1 in the stone schoolhouse with evangelical church support and strong local interest.
Walter F. Iles and Miss Frances O. Blakesley married last Saturday evening at the bride’s parents home near Shell. Rev. D Kimbro officiated in a simple ceremony with close relatives. The couple will reside at the Elk Horn ranch.
After the ceremony guests sat down to a bountiful wedding meal. They departed at a late hour wishing the newlyweds a long happy and prosperous life, fully joined by the many friends of both parties.
Max Moritz comes back from Rairden where he built a house on Wm. Gibson’s ranch and completed all outside contracts. He is now available for building projects of any kind with many years of experience. In Basin he constructed the Leidecker Tool Co. building. Frank I Rue takes on multiple chores at home following Mrs Rue's hospital discharge. He now acts as chambermaid dishwasher cook and hen chaser, reflecting a shift in daily responsibilities.
The Woman's club held a Wednesday afternoon session in the library with Mrs. Jas F Ewers as chair. Mrs. Denny presented a paper on South America detailing size population industries and countries with a large map, and Mrs. Joslin performed two songs.
