Statutory Rape Charge Shocks Scotts Bluff Community
John Creech was arrested Wednesday on statutory rape charges involving seventeen year old Gertrude Wildman. A preliminary hearing occurred before Justice Bonwell with R B West representing the state and Paul Moss for the defense. Creech allegedly lured the girl from Scotts Bluff to Basin and lived with her in a shack near a farm. he was bound over to the next district court term in 600 bond, which he could not post, and jailed. The girl's father, Wildman, took her home to Scotts Bluff.
