Wyoming Road Amendment Proposed in 1915 Joint Resolution
The Wyoming legislature approves a proposed constitutional amendment to Article 16 adding a new section on roads and internal improvements. It would allow the state to fund or aid road projects with federal support, not restricting construction by two thirds vote, and clarifies land grant allocations may be used for such works. New Oil Derricks Begin in Little Buffalo Basin
This week two oil derricks started in the Little Buffalo basin. Pickering Bros. build a Midwest western derrick, Tanberg company on the southeast side also begins a unit. Both rigs to finish in days and drilling to start next week. Milton predicts success against the gas barrier with a rotary drill. Tanberg plans to drill depths beyond several hundred feet previously reached with a statue base used. Ohio and California interests prepare to drill north of old wells. Yellowstone Highway log book edition ready for distribution in three weeks, ten thousand copies with maps and town advertising. Gus Holm oversaw the project with extensive local support and Wyoming booster aims.
