National Bank Elects Officers and Plans New Building
The Pioneer bank will convert to a national bank and adopt the name First National after receiving its charter in a few days. A. K. Lee serves as president with S S Skovgard Ed Carothers as vice presidents T S Pexton cashier and Wm C Maly as assistant cashier. Directors include A K Lee S Skovgard PH Carothers B C Hart and T S Pexton. The bank plans a one story modern building on the corner opposite the drug store costing over 15000 with space for a few rooms and will begin construction as soon as charter is issued and plans approved.

Summer School Opens with Miss Lewis Leading Instruction
Miss Lewis, a Denver University graduate and former grammar school teacher, opens a summer school next week at the old stone school house offering normal instruction and prep for aspiring teachers or advanced study. Pool Hall Burglary Ends With arrest in Basin
Last Sunday night the Todd pool hall was burglarized and $82 taken by J. P. Harvey. The keeper locked a stranger inside as closing time. the man hid there then rifled punch boards, took gold coins and other items, then smashed a rear window and fled. The sheriff wired nearby towns and the suspect was later captured at Creybull and brought to Basin.

Basin lodge salutes Mrs Mathews and Greybull visit
Last Tuesday afternoon the local lodge of Royal Neighbors entertained Mrs Amanda Mathews of Sheridan deputy oracle and many visiting neighbors from Greybull. The Basin team assisted by Greybull members held the initiation after which Mrs Mathews addressed the group. Ice cream and sandwiches followed and guests pledged a cordial invitation for future Basin visits. Mrs Mathews travels the state sparking interest in the order as new members join across Wyoming. Last Sunday J Frank Gould and Mary Pearl Moberly were married at Beaver Creek with Rev W R Hopton presiding. The groom, a long time stockman and farmer, hails from a prominent Beaver Creek family and the couple will reside on a ranch at the head of Beaver Creek. The Republican extends best wishes for happiness and prosperity.
