Trout Dinner Progress Association Meeting at Frontier

Members of the Progress Association met at the Frontier restaurant for their regular weekly dinner on Wednesday. Minutes were read and approved. Speakers discussed Basin growth, roads, and local development with remarks from W. T. Whaley and Abert Cleot of Lovell.

Famei Joe In Town Cowboy Author Visits This Week

Cowboy author Joe Magill of Owl Creek visited town this week drawing locals to dog circles. He joked about dog history research and his love for a collie. A lively street scene formed with dogs, a pony, and a comic gathering centering on the famed writer.

Olson Sues School Board Over Lovell Building Contract

Judge Parmelee heard Albert Olson of Lowell sue the Lovell school board and Bruer and Stanton contractors to stop building a schoolhouse. Olson moved to dismiss without prejudice. The board said it would start construction. Olson claimed he did not obtain the building material contract, a point seen by many as the case’s cause.

Trouble At Gpence Involving Deputy Sheriff and Turk

Deputy Sheriff Cusack clashed with section foreman Moore who allegedly assaulted a Turk named Bolcamo Vey. The Turk says a gun was taken from his feed and $20 missing. No arrests have been made. the case is with the prosecuting attorney.

Will Build Plant In Basin North Of Greyball

W J Bunkel Jr and partners of Kanmei City acting for National yp um company toured Basin last week over a proposed grain plant site north of Greyball. Initial plans include 160 to 200 workers, new track connections, and a modern plant design to minimize handling. Construction could start soon with product ready by early next year. The project may spur a new town to house workers and families as work proceeds. A company official will return to finalize offices and arrangements. Washington Letter notes Wyoming homesteaders’ interest in April leave act and Senator Warren’s push to pass it before 1912 ends. Senator Sleeper criticizes Carey’s last fall vote and asserts GOP unity will prevail. Continued on page sixteen.
