Great Western Oil Brings In A Fine Well North Of Basin
Great Western Oil company struck oil on the Coffield Place north of Basin on the North beach last Friday. The 21 foot sand showed a strong oil presence, and the well was shot with 40 quarts by Wyoming Torpedo. Observers estimate 20 to 50 barrels daily and expect improvement with pumping. A company incorporation plan emerged as locals invest, with plans for another well on the Hart tract. A large field potential excites Basin, with multiple crews expected and Ohio Oil Company talks of a 1,000,000 barrel deal prompting pipeline and competition.
