The M W A will hold one of the largest gatherings in the state Friday November 18 with Bain as host. State Deputy Winchster attended the local Woodmen meeting where new members were welcomed including W J Stanley Jack Easter Harry Wise DeRoyce Dudley and BE Brown Brown was elected to an office. After initiation the group adjourned to Cozy Cafe for a Shoemaker lunch and fellowship continued into the night.

Canoeists wrecked near Basin. Phillips party escapes
A party led by W T Phillips of Arizona including two women and another man wrecked in the lower canyon after leaving Basin on the Fourth of July. All members reached shore unharmed. A H Simpson had gone ahead with pack horses to meet them but learned of the disaster upon returning to Basin. He suffered losses as surveying instruments and mining gear were taken by the group. Sunday School Picnic at Tillard’s grave drew a large crowd seeking shade and lemonade. The Rev Howell received Thanks for arranging the day.
