The Big Horn Baptist association and the Baptist State Convention will unite programs and meet at Ther Mopolis from August 13 to September 4. The event offers camping parties access to springs and the convention program simultaneously, encouraging plans to attend and participate.

Witness Summoned Across Distances in Basin

In Basin on Wednesday D L Carr of the Big Horn County Bank received a long distance call from Sheridan summoning him as a witness in the Ellis Bonner suit. He asked to be excused due to busyness but was told to come. the summons was delivered by legal means as valid as in person. He caught the next train. Verily the world do move.

You can’t always tell about a boy in Reno sheriff tale

A. L. Anderson of Indianola Iowa praises L. G. Clark now Sheriff of the county containing Reno Nevada. Anderson notes Clark was once seen as a boy with little future but has thrived under new conditions in Basin. He cites Clark’s success as sheriff and expresses approval.

Billings Bank Closes Doors

The First National Bank of Billings was closed by the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington last Saturday. It was not affiliated with Wyoming banks beyond routine exchange, and its failure is not expected to affect local institutions.

Gebo coal cases favor government in 57 judgments

The Gebo coal cases yielded 57 rulings in favor of the government after publication. Some decisions held lack of jurisdiction, while about 9,500 acres of coal lands were affected. Many entries were made by dummies of Alfred Sully, of New York, and later transferred. Eminent counsel for and against the government appeared. Wyoming was represented by M. B. Camplin of Sheridan and T. F. Burke of Cheyenne.
