The Basin town council appointed Bert Brigham as policeman and issued a strict warning to violators of traffic laws. Drivers are urged to slow down and observe licenses, as drunkenness and reckless driving will not be tolerated.

Death of Mrs Edwin A Lockhart

Grace Lockhart, long resident of Wyoming and Washington, died June 30 in Wapato after a three week illness from a sudden heart stroke. Born January 22, 1880, in Loveland Colorado, she married Edwin A. Lockhart in Buffalo Wyoming October 31, 1900. Funeral services were at the Methodist Church with Rover Bowling officiating. interment at Mountain View Cemetery. pallbearers listed.

Condition Improves After Barbed Wire Injury

Oil well breakthrough promises large production at Tensleep site

The Ashland Wyoming Oil Co drilled in NE% Sec 29 52 93 penetrating Tensleep candé at 3410 feet. Oil of high grade rose quickly, signaling commercial significance. Water access expected within days as the well finishes. Various Ohio and Basin players forecast strong output and ongoing drilling across nearby sections and camps.

A Wyoming town held a lively Fourth of July celebration in Basin with a morning 15 of the Doin's ball game where Basin beat Greybull's second team, a noon picnic, and an afternoon of horse racing and bronco busting. The event drew most of Basin plus many visitors from Greybull including numerous local residents and families.

Basin Band to Play at Wyoming State Fair

Col W H May arranged with Secretary Bollin of the Wyoming state fair commission for the Basin girls saxophone band to perform at the state fair in Douglas as an attraction. A Burlington soccal car will run to Douglas for Basin band girls and others wishing to attend. Judge George Harding of Greybull was in town Wednesday.
