Jack Friend Bound Over After Federal Search in Basin
Federal officer and Town Marshal Hanlon searched Jack Friend’s North Seventh Street home with a federal warrant. About fifty gallons of corn meal mash, a copper sugar vessel, a milk can, copper pipes, a large bottle collection, and other items were seized. Friend was charged with possession for manufacturing liquor and posted $1,000 bond for the February district court term. The tip reportedly came from Hyattville.
