District Court to convene February term
District Court Commissioner J R Bonwell received instructions from Judge P W Metz now in Denver to call the docket and set civil cases for the February term beginning February 14. Attorneys are to appear tomorrow at 2 o'clock in Basin to hear docket and hearing dates. Jury call not set but likely February 21. Judge Metz expects to return early February to handle pending matters before the regular term.

Immigration Bill Hearing Moves Toward New Features
Washington January 26 The senate immigration committee ended its hearings on the Johnson bill to suspend immigration for a year after listening to Anthony Caminetti commissioner general of immigration. Members signaled the bill would be altered from the house version and Chairman Colt foresaw new features. The committee showed support for a Dillingham plan to limit immigration by a percentage system and favored Sterling bill ideas creating a study board to adjust rules during emergencies. Caminetti avoided pledging support for suspension, suggesting a cabinet opinion. He warned of record arrivals before July 1 if restrictions fail and urged stronger border barriers to curb undesirables. Colt noted a continuation on page eight.
