Home for vacation brings Coons family to Burlington area
Miss Lola Coons Gerald Coons and the Misses Avent returned from Laramie last Sunday for Christmas holidays. Avent met his daughters and moved them to the ranch above Burlington the same day. United States Sues Oil Firms Over Land Rights
In federal court the United States brings an equity action against Ojo Oil Grass Creek Mex co Wyoming Petroleum and several individuals alleging no petroleum discovery before May 6 1914 when lands were withdrawn. Ohio Oil drilled July 24 1914 and has since produced oil. government taxes the lands at over one hundred thousand dollars and seeks further relief. Continued on page six.

Woman's Club Hosts Childrens Play Event

Litigation over leases in Grass Creek district Big Horn Basin Wyoming ends in out of court agreement. Each side pays half the costs and Valentine Oil Company remains in possession. Midwest sought to oust Valentine from lands leased from David Dickie et al. The dispute hinged on prior locator claims versus discovery of oil. Feeding the Hay in Greybull Valley
In the Greybull valley an unusual number of hay stacks is noted as hay and grain production fuels winter feeding. Cattlemen from distant Basin points feed at Otto alfalfa mill where they are not grinding but using the facilities. Sheep will be fed, especially in the valley’s western part, with a sugar factory coming to Basin increasing use of the area as feeding ground. County Assessor L. O. Gray and Commissioner Spratt traveled to Cheyenne to attend a state assessors and commissioners meeting.
