Pinned Couple Endured Six Hours Under Car After Creek Crash

A man identified as Dr W. 8. Bennett and a woman companion were trapped beneath their overturned car for about six hours after it plunged into a creek near Wiley ranch southeast of Cody on a Wednesday. Found at 9:30 am by rancher James Fast, they were moved to the ranch and later to Cody for medical care. Bennet and his companion faced serious, possibly fatal injuries due to long entrapment.

Sheriff captures horse thief near Fromberg

Sheriff Wickwire returned from Frouberg with J L Rody captured for stealing a horse from the Scoville barn. Rody had tried to hire a horse at the livery to go to the Athenry ranch, then vanished. The chase stretched through Wyoming and Montana, ending four miles below Bridger near Fromberg. Local reports say several horses have vanished in Montana, with a suspected cross state gang. The capture may disrupt their operations in the region.
