District court records disclose July 1 1919 filing by drainage commission with route and boundary details. They report no land damages, provide construction cost estimates and an assessment schedule for benefits and construction across lands in Township 56N Range 97W, Big Horn County Wyoming.
The Drainage Commissioners report that Byron Town will receive special benefits and a five hundred dollar assessment for construction costs. A hearing is set for August 20 1919 at 10 a.m. in Basin Wyoming Court House to hear objections and decide whether the report and assessments should be approved. The court clerk notes the seal and date July 17 1919.
The Jansing Bliss-White protest over Shantung surrender to Japan arose after Wilson asked three-fifths of his peace commission for an opinion. They were overruled by Wilson and Col. House, with two-fifths supporting the commission. The text notes Wilson’s disregard for majority opinion and cites last November’s election results as proof.
The women’s division of the New York county Republican committee pledges active work in July and August to mobilize a heavy women’s vote in the September 2 primaries and to boost the coalition’s end.
Rollment during October registration days aims to boost participation. Last year the Republican enrollment of women in New York City stood at 136 246. A wholesale house to house campaign has been inaugurated in New York. Assembly district clubhouses will stay open all summer to both men and women voters to aid enrollment.
Washington July 20 Chairman Steenerson of the house committee on post offices and post roads has introduced a bill to allow the post office to return unclaimed parcel post packages containing perishable goods to the sender or forwarding address without awaiting extra postage. The sender must pledge that any additional postage will be paid by the sender or the addressee to protect food shippers.
After a land dispute, state land commissioner A. Baker and a burly cowboy clashed near Nineteenth Street and Carey Avenue. Baker suffered facial injuries. the cowboy, E. H. Hughes, was arrested, posted bond, and was jailed to face assault and battery charges.
