Basin to Issue Bonds for Water Plant and Gas Engines

The town proposes a $60 000 bond issue to upgrade the municipal power plant with internal combustion gas engines and to expand and rework the water treatment facilities. Expected annual savings plus reduced taxes would offset costs, delivering purer water year round.

Game Wardens Visit Basin on Inspection Trip

Bruce Nowlin state game warden and Bliss Bayne chief deputy arrived from Cody to inspect the Basin fish hatchery. Nowlin left for Victor Idaho due to his father's illness. Bayne continued to Hyattville with Mr and Mrs P P Anderson and Mrs Wm Gibson.

Yellowstone auto manager takes Casper position

W D Jones formerly of Yellowstone Motor Co in Yellowstone is leaving Tuesday to become traveler for Casper Auto Supply Co. He will base in Basin with a territory covering northern Wyoming and southern Montana. Bill is known as an excellent salesman and is expected to succeed in his new assignment.

Articles of incorporation filed in Cheyenne reveal the Doman Oil and Refining Company, led by J. B. Doman of Rock Oak West Virginia, capitalized at 1 million dollars. Easter for Templars at Episcopalian Church Service

Dean Dixon led special services for the Knight Templars at 2 30 Sunday afternoon at the Episcopal church. Clifford Lenniger of Cody presided over the Knights whose march to the church was joined by local members. Five Cody cars could not travel the roads to participate.

A high school musical contest Wednesday chose Irene Bowling and Thelma Gould for piano and Irma Wright for vocal. Ruth Wickwire and Pearl Ellis also competed in vocal with Wright taking first place.

Death Calls Mrs Henry Dutton in Big Horn Basin

Ida M. Dutton died at the family home on South Fifth Street after a lingering illness. She was born September 30, 1877 in Indiana and moved with Henry Dutton to the Big Horn Basin years ago. Survived by husband and son Roy. funeral services were held at home officiated by Rev. Edwin Bowling and the body sent to Lenox Iowa for interment.

Engineer from Clearmont to Head Basin Office

Stanley Inscho of Clearmont Wyoming is expected to arrive in Basin within days to take charge of Clyde W Atherly s office. He is a licensed engineer and highly recommended to carry out the work. Inscho will move his family and become a permanent resident. Basin residents plan a cordial welcome.

Moonshine raid leads to preliminary hearing for Lee Morris

Lee Morris was held after a preliminary hearing before Justice Bonwell on the moonshine charge. Sheriff deputies testified about a raid on the Prindle property listing a still, five barrels of mash, and liquor found in a locked room. Morris boarded with Nora Payne and faced a bound over decision with bond set at $1000. he remained jailed for the next district court term.

Appraisers Report Damages Over Basin Manalerson Road

J O Jones and William Jones filed a claim for 100 per acre damages for the Basin Manalerson road. Bootleggers Sentenced After Guilty Pleas

Three bootleggers appeared before Judge Metz on Monday and pleaded guilty to manufacturing and possessing liquor. Franci Bil and George Remmich of Lovell and Henry Ruff of Kane were each fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in jail.
