Feterita Emerges as Key Drought Proof Sorghum
A regional feature on feterita, a drought resistant grain sorghum from Africa, rising in importance alongside kafir and milo. The piece traces its history from first importations in 1901 to trials at Chilocothe and Amarillo, reports strong yields in 1912 1913, early maturation, and its potential to beat drought where rainfall is scant. It notes farmer endorsements, experimental support, and growing seed demand in Kansas Oklahoma and surrounding states.
