Wyoming Republicans Adopt Liberal Resolutions In Cheyenne
Wyoming Republicans from all factions met in Cheyenne on April 6, 1914 to adopt a full set of liberal resolutions. They call for protections for women and children, a woman matron at state homes, modern roads with bonds, federal aid to interstates, a public utilities commission, broader publicity and an immigration bureau, and streamlining education leadership. They condemn Wilson’s foreign policy, support initiative and referendum, stronger anti corruption laws, tariff reform, and protections for domestic producers. They advocate tariffs on foreign meats, stamp inspections, and a nonpartisan tariff board, plus securities acts and pension of economy in government.
