The 54th annual California Fruit Growers and Farmers convention will meet in Los Angeles October 24 25 at Exposition Park under the State Department of Agriculture. It is a major gathering for fruit growers and agriculturists as California leads in fruit production and cooperative marketing. A banquet on October 25 will honor Governor William D Stephens who will speak on Agriculture as the Basis of Prosperity.

Minneola News Opens With New LA Teacher and Local Weddings
Minneola correspondent reports the school opened September 19 with Miss Annie B Smith of Los Angeles as teacher. Dewey Gray returned from Los Angeles with bride Miss Margaret Smith of Los Angeles and Daggett. The couple has community support. Mrs J Martinez and children moved to Barstow for the school year. Manuel, 18, attends B U H S. Miss Rath Burden of Water visited Miss Annie Webber. A Saturday ranch party hosted 75 with games and dancing, plus sandwiches, cake and coffee.
