Barstow P T A Opens First Meeting Next Tuesday
The Barstow P T A will hold its first meeting at the grammar school auditorium next Tuesday afternoon September 16 at 3 pm with newly elected president Mrs Dee Cooper presiding. Officers include Mrs Burton Leak vice president Mrs Leslie White secretary Mrs John Benson treasurer and Mrs Lydia Hagerty parliamentarian. Plans for the annual teachers reception will be discussed at the opening meeting and all are urged to attend.

Barstow Accepts Las Vegas Invitation To Boulder Celebration
Barstow Chamber of Commerce Kiwanis Club and Barstow Printer received an invitation to Las Vegas for the Boulder Dam inauguration ceremonies on September 17. The Metropolitan Water District announced the start of construction at 2 PM with Dr. Ray Lyman Wilbur expected to drive the silver spike. Delegations from Barstow, San Bernardino, and other southern California cities will attend, with Union Pacific officials and special trains from Los Angeles.
