Freak Wind Injures Emery Hoerner in Mojave Valley
A freak wind swept a one and a half ton tank near Newberry during a desert storm, trapping 19 year old Emery Hoerner while four children escaped. At Daggett State inspection station officers detect a stolen 1930 Nash coupe after noting missing tire rack and luggage. The driver gave two names, Bob Short and Bob Henderson, admitted stealing the car in St. Louis and holding an Oklahoma license. he claimed the Nash was his sixth theft and has a penitentiary record.

Southern Pacific Trains Rear End Collision at San Luis Obispo
Southern Pacific Lark crashed into the Padre at 2 10 this Thursday morning in San Luis Obispo. The Padre was twenty minutes late due to a broken steam pipe. SP President Paul Shoupe rode in a private car returning to San Francisco from New York. No passengers were seriously injured. An employee repairing the pipe under the train had a leg amputated.
