He was found unconscious and remained lethargic, waking briefly Monday before slipping back to sleep. his condition was reported better today.

John Suchy was unconscious for three hours after a poisonous Hercules fly sting on his arm near Kennedy property. He crawled to his car and rode to Barstow for medical care, suffering dizziness swelling and weakness for days. The insect, called Hercules fly by locals, was shown at White and Platt Drug Store amid unfamiliar reports of its lethality.
Heat wave grips Los Angeles where Barstow enjoys cooler weather. W J Baker Arlington chairman collapsed while cranking a car, dying at receiving hospital during peak heat. Thermometer hit 102 countywide with Riverside at 106 and inland towns around 100.

Ed Hawley spent the weekend in Los Angeles with the Wetenhall family who are now driving. Stephens and Mrs. J Melton celebrate the birth of a seven pound baby boy. Mrs. Milton was Flora Flippen before her marriage.

Mrs A C Doolittle and daughter Mrs Eva L Hall of Wallas Texas spent five days with their son Oscar F Dolittle. They departed for Los Angeles Tuesday, accompanied by Mrs O I Doolittle who returned to Barstow last night.
A damaged grape shipment in Barstow yards Monday left many locals eligible to buy Thompson seedless grapes at 30 cents per box. The brisk sale quickly cleared stock as residents grabbed the best grade fruit.
