Train Time Changes On December 7 For Santa Fe Route
New Santa Fe timetable effective December 7 alters several trains. The De Luxe resumes eastbound service via Barstow at 10.20 p.m. The Joburg arrives about one hour earlier. Phoenix No. 17 shifts to 3.50 a.m. instead of 4.50. An afternoon southbound train at 3.40 p.m. is added. The Limited departs east at 5.40 p.m., about an hour later.

Successful Turkey Shoot At Barstow Fair
The Turkey Shoot led by The Printer drew about 25 participants with twenty birds won by a dozen contestants. Winners claimed three birds each for K L Stanfield CG Hendrick and Louie Harmon while Geo Santhu and Arthur Colcord tied for one. Al Green hit the most bullseyes. Mrs. Bennett was the only lady shooter. A gun club may form in Barstow.

Girls defeat boys in public school basketball clash on Thanksgiving
The L C O girls basketball team beat the boys 14 to 12 on Thanksgiving at the school grounds in front of a large crowd. Captain Estelle Houck led Bertha Griffith Marie Lurber Mary Sloan Mary Hillis and Nell Houck. Principal C A Brown refereed as the boys’ names were withheld. A new referee is sought as they plan to play Needles next.

Woodbeck Transferred from Barstow Car Foreman Post
L. E. Woodbeck moves to the Los Angeles Division train service leaving Barstow December 1 and staying in the mechanical department until January 15. Since his two years as foreman the car repair department expanded from a single sidetrack to a large plant with shed five tracks an office wrecking outfit and full repair facilities.

Webber to Return Home With New Mules for Assessment Work
Todos Santos M. A. Webber is expected home from Los Angeles with new mules for assessment work under several contracts. Tom Williams is drilling a 200 feet well on the Merrill ranch to be completed this week with a 30 hp engine and pump installed.
